Anyone else obsessed with Instagram?

My four photo using the Instagram!
Let me start by saying that I DON'T have an Iphone.. so I am behind the rest of the world. I did just find out that one of the apps that I have been interested in {for a long time} Instagram now made a droid option.I can not tell you how happy that makes me and scares all of my Facebook friends. I just love all of the filters that it adds to the photos and how funky they look. Love it!

I started thinking about how I could use the app to show off sample cards, stamps, trade shows and more that JessicaLynnOriginal and JLMould.etsy.com are part of.

Stamps from JessicaLynnOriginal.com
PROCESS:
  1. I started by taking four photos: Rubber Stamps, Clear Stamps, Self Inking Stamps, and Ink! I wanted to show case the four main products that we offer at my stores!
  2. Then I opened up my photo program.. I have few but one of my favorites is this old piece of software called PhotoImpact. It is such a little work horse for projects. I made all of the photos the same size by adjusting the finished size of the image to 244x244 pixels.
  3. Finally I make a new formatted image that was 1000 x 250 I wanted to leave some small edges of white and a little between each photo.
  4. I copied (one by one) each photo into the new larger "strip" and then saved the photo. It only took about ten minutes to do.
IDEAS.
  • What an amazing idea for a wedding: Thank you Bookmarks, Shower gifts, Themed things.. like a four photo of Bride, Maid of Honor, Maid, Maid.. how fun. Now that is assuming that you only pick three. Then your groom choose do the same with his groomsmen!
  • Cards & Scrapbooking:  If you print them off I can only imagine and amazing page filled with 1x1 Instagrams. Use your 1x1 square punch and make pages away.. I think I might have to try that one.
  • Baby Shower: Could be photos of the New Mommy as she is getting larger so show off the baby. Or fun things to do with the baby.. or .. the ideas are endless.
  • Print them for your wall. I saw a blog post that showed off a group of four college students who printed off 9x9 versions of their favorites photos. Then they cover their walls from floor to ceiling with their "art" and it was so inspiring.
I would love to hear what you think of Instagram and share your best collections.

Happy Stamping,
Jessica Lynn

Team JessicaLynnOriginal Run/Walk Team

For the past few months I have been watching a great friend of mine Jillian join in many walks and runs to keep up her fitness and doing this while being pregnant. It has inspired me more than I think she will ever know. A few nights ago I had the idea that I could do join a bunch of walks.. ok.. I am not ready for a marathon or even a half of a marathon, but at least a three mile walk is going to get me going.

My goal for 2012 is to be part of SIX walks. I want to go at least one a month until I complete the task. I am really hoping that many of you will find the inspiration in what I am doing and do it too! I will post of each of the events that we will be walking at and I HOPE that you will join us.. come and walk. Walk for yourself and walk for great causes.

I look forward to posting our walk results and photos.. it is going to be a lot of fun!!

Happy Walking Everyone,
Jessica Lynn

Oprah Magazine – February 2012 Issue

We were featured in the Feb 2012 Issue.
One of the greatest feelings in the world is when you spend many years working with customers to create custom stamps for their weddings, baby showers, or small businesses and they send you a note to say Thank You. It is all about trying to help with their dream or idea.

I love working for and with my creative customers. They are constantly inspiring me to try and create new things and to push my business to the next level. JessicaLynnOriginal, LLC & JLMould.etsy.com (both are the same business) are featured in the February 2012 Issue of Oprah Magazine. It is such an amazing honor that I am very thankful for. It was a Friday afternoon when I was contacted by them to see if there was any way that I could have two or three custom designed stamps to their office in New York. I emailed them back and asked if I would have someone that I could work with over the weekend to get the proofs approved. They assured me that they would be there to answer any questions that I might have had. I spent the weekend designing the stamps and getting approval. Aaron, my husband, packed them up on Tuesday and got them out of the house to their photo shoot in NY the next day.

I got an email from the ladies in the office that the stamps had arrived safe and sound and they were currently waiting for their turn. All I could image was my adorable stamps sitting there in the VIP Green Room, drinks in hand, relaxing and waiting to be called. I just had to draw out what I was picturing (see photo above).

They told me that the stamps looked amazing and that we were going to be in the February Issue of the Oprah Magazine. I can not tell you home much it means to me to be recognized for the amount of work that goes into a small business.

The stamps to the left are the five designs that were sent off to the magazine for review and consideration. All of these stamps are on my website: http://www.etsy.com/shop/JLMould?section_id=6424457

Going from left to right: Top Row:

Oprah’s Cocker spaniel with a quote: I love to draw out animals. I have two amazing dogs (Strider & Evee) whom I just adore. They are my fuzzy kids. I knew that I wanted to draw something that would showcase my skills.

Megaphone: They were looking for this custom hand-drawn megaphone. When we first started designing I thought they wanted a “bull-horn” – lol. I drew up a few versions and this is the great design that they approved.

Flowers with My Mom’s name: My mother has been an amazing inspiration to me my whole life. She is one of the greatest people that I know. She is always putting others first. The ladies at Oprah gave me the option for the names to add to the stamps and I knew the first one HAD TO BE Debbie.

Wedding Swirl Name: Normally the stamp with the name in the fancy swirl letter is one that I use for brides and grooms for their Save the Dates or for Goody Bags. But, I really love it with the single name…it would be perfect to place your name inside of your favorite books.

Handmade By: The next stamp features two of my sisters (Tracey & Kim). I just love the two of them so much and I wanted them to know that even though we are all grown up, I still remember every minute of our time together – mornings before school, listening to the Backstreet Boys, concerts, Weddings, Band Concerts, Disney trips - they are my sisters and I just love them.

Thank you to all of my customers, friends, clients and future customers. I know that owning a small business is all about the climb – it is all about learning what you did wrong and what you did good and keep moving forward.Publish Post

Thank you all.

JessicaLynnOriginal: Santa Shop and How to Create Original Santa Gift Tags

There is nothing like an amazing handmade custom gift tag. These three tags would be perfect for packing up your items from the "big man" this holiday season. They are very simple and perfect for craft shows, gifts, or any other gifts that you package up.
  1.  I used some amazing brown card stock that I used my Cricut Expression  machine to cut out the shapes.
  2. Then used the JessicaLynnOriginal: Santa Claus Poinsettia Rubber Stamp Design: Santa006  to stamp the  Poinsettia on the tag. I used my Copic markers to color in the designs.
  3. Using the JessicaLynnOriginal: Santa Claus Custom Handwriting stamp to add the big man's name on the tag. You could also use our Rudolf stamp to do the same thing.
We would love to hear what you think of this design and our samples?

Happy Holidays,
Jessica Lynn

Get off your Bass

Small Mouth Bass Card Stamp by JessicaLynnOriginal.com
My step-dad is currently in the hospital and I wanted to draw up something that would just make him smile. When I was a kid he used to take us fishing ALL THE TIME and I thought it would be a great challenge for me to draw a fish of some type. So small mouth bass it is. I actually think he looks adorable and it kinda makes me want to go fishing.

When I gave him the card he was very impressed with the art and told me that it was the best art he had seen in a long time. We laughed and I just love it! I am going to be offering this bass as part of a new "Manly" set of stamps that I am working on. I think you are going to LOVE IT! I would love to hear what you think of my card and new design!

Have a great day!

Inspired by You! My amazing customers...

Last week I was inspired by all of the amazing logos that I worked with while creating stamps that I felt it was time to take a few minutes and design a brand new packaging stamp that I can place on all of my shipments. I wanted to include the adorable bird and branch branding that I have done on my stamp website http://JLMould.etsy.com.

I just love putting together solid fonts with heavy script and I LOVE the wording on this stamp. I hope that you love it when it arrives are your door with your packaging. I used high quality Archival Ink (all that I have handy) which I LOVE. I do sell Archival ink in my store: JLMould Inks.

The ink in the photo is Close to My Heart (which I do not sell, but I do have a wonderful person that you can buy CTMH ink from: Lori's CTMH page)

I would love to hear what you think of my new stamp!!

Featured Customer #4 - Dew Drop Frames - Giveway

Click the photo above to find out how I can help create a custom stamp for your small business.
Dew Drop Frames
Website: www.DewDropFrames.com

Who doesn't love this!??
About our Company: At Dew Drop Frames we offer simply stunning circular frames. Round frames give your photos a certain flair that you just can't get with the usual square frame. Create something wonderful in your space with a grouping of our uniquely round frames or just showcase your most treasured photo in our largest cicular frame. Whether you choose black, white, designer or classic edge, small or large circular frames you'll see your photos in a whole new light with Dew Drop frames.

How do we use our stamp: We needed a large round stamp to use on our frame gift boxes and shipping boxes. We will probably find many more uses for it, stamping inserts, packaging paper etc.

My thoughts: What I loved about working Tiffana was that she was pleasant and knew what she wanted with her stamp. I looked at her website and I love these frames.. I think that they are perfect for the walls and as a Disney fan.. I actually think they would be PERFECT for those silhouettes. (http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2010/08/a-cut-above-the-rest)

Featured Customer #2 - Nice Day Designs DIY Bride

Amazing door stamped on the water color paper and being colored in.
Ruth found me on http://JLMould.etsy.com and requested a custom stamp for her business. We have worked together on a few designs and this one is just one of my favorites!! I just fell in LOVE with this perfect line drawing of this door. I love the entire idea about everything that happens to this couple to start their marriage happens there. Love it.I had a great time making her the red rubber stamp that I mounted on a wooden block. What do you think?!

    Nice Day Designs
    Web Stuff:

What I sell: I initially started out my business selling handmade cards, but over the past 5 years I've hugely expanded my range. I make handmade brooches, earrings, rings, pocket mirrors, badges and a small range of customized clothes. I still love making cards though and have continued making them through all the changes in my business. I sell at a weekly craft market in Limerick, Ireland. I also sell on etsy and a few boutiques around the country.

This is a 5x7 sized red rubber stamp mounted on a wooden block.

Story behind the stamp: My partner's brother is getting married this Summer, and John is going to be the best man. The couple wanted a low key wedding with some personal touches. I chatted with the bride to be and she wanted something different for her cards. The wedding reception is in an old Georgian building and she wanted to incorporate this into the invitation design. We discussed using the door as a symbol of welcoming her guests to the wedding. My boyfriend John is studying a Masters in Archaeology, and also has a background in Archaeological Illustration, so her was the perfect choice to do the drawing for the invites. I then approached Jessica about getting a mold made to fit the size of the card. After the beautiful stamp arrived myself and the bride made the cards adding the simple touch of red water color on the door itself. Myself and Shelly, the bride, is delighted with the result, saying it's exactly what she wanted.

    Hoppy Easter....

    Photobucket
Click on the photo above to see all of our Easter Stamps that we have in stock and ready to ship!

Easter to me always means that spring has arrived. Every year we go to my husband's father's house for the holiday and spend it with a lot of family. We do the Easter egg hunt for the kids, candy, huge lunch, gathering of many family members, and Cascarones ... if you do not know what they are.. let me tell you. They are a hoot!
    •  Cascarones or confetti eggs are festive, hollowed-out chicken eggs filled with confetti or small toys. Decorated, confetti-filled cascarones may be thrown or crushed over the recipient's head to shower him or her with confetti.
I love to make cards to share with those that are not able to get to the gathering. Just a small way to tell them that I am thinking about them. I love chickens.. and I wanted to just make a simple card that showed off these stamps. I stamped the background with "Bunny Egg" and then only colored in things with green and yellow!

    One week until Easter!!!

    Featured Customer #1 - Lorie V Photography

    Lorie V Photography
    Peoria, AZ

First what is not to love about a photographer who buys a stamp from you?? You know they are going to showcase what they can do with the stamp. I worked with her to create a custom stamp from her logo. She sent it in full color and I made adjustments to it and changed it into the black and white logo that you see. I created it as a red rubber stamp with a wooden base.

    HOW SHE USES IT:
Lorie uses the stamp to create her DVD holders which is how she stores her photography. What an amazing gift talk about a wonderful investment. I love her packaging. I work with a lot of photographers who use their stamps to add their logo to the back of photos, mailings, but this is another great idea! I just love what she created with her stamp.

HER THOUGHT ON WORKING WITH US:
"This stamp looks just like my logo..Perfect... I love it. So glad I found your Etsy site. Great customer service. Fast shipping"

    You are in my thoughts....

    Photobucket
Click on the photo above to learn more about this stamp set.
I hope that everyone is having a wonderful weekend, it is finally starting to feel like spring is maybe on the way. (Feels like forever) I wanted to create a card that I could do a little bit of "Green" to it.
    • I used an old paper bag for the background of the card and I really focused on the stamp. It is a brand new image from JessicaLynnOriginal that I really just wanted to color. I used colored pencils and made the flowers bright and alive.
    • I love mixing the brown with the bright pop of yellow. It reminds me of when people paint their front doors red.. my whole house is red so what does that tell you about me!! lol :)
I simply just mounted the colored flowers and rounded the corners so that more of the black would show. Then I stamped the "You are in my Thoughts" and I think this would be a great anytime card to send to someone. I LOVE to send out cards randomly.. now if I could just get better about remembering birthdays I would be good!!

    Have a great weekend everyone,
